Amazing Visit

We had a great time with Brian's dad and wife Joni! We feel so blessed that they took the time and effort to visit us! They made the half-way-around-the-world trek stopping in London midway to catch up on jet lag and returning through Rome to see some of the relics there. I thought that was a pretty smart plan and wish I could do it myself:) We spent a whirlwind week of sightseeing and taste-testing...albeit Indian McDonald's and pizza for many meals:)

In Bangalore we brought them to see our friends' school in a village outside of Bangalore, to visit a small orphanage that some of our other friends run, to take a tour of Brian's office, visit our church, plus some shopping and eating. Our first trip was to Mysore to visit a regional palace and zoo. Then we flew to Delhi and from there drove 5 hours to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. I was excited to see the Taj Mahal--we had been waiting to see it with them.

We were amazed and blessed that neither Greg nor Joni had stomach issues while here and that they managed to put up with us and our "active" family:D I can only imagine the patience it must take to go from 0 decimals of noise in your daily life to 100+ decimals of silly little boys for a week and trying to keep a smile on your face. I applaud them and can't thank them enough for making the effort to come experience "our world". It was so refreshing and made our year.

I'm posting some pics...and since I had my new camera to try out I took way too many so I think I'll break them up a little:) You can start each slide show over and watch just one at a time:)

Those are great - esp. the ones in front of the Taj!!! love those. Corban looks so much like his Pawpaw. I wish we could hang out too! Someday - in God's perfect timing. I went to Canton First Monday Trade Days this weekend. I was thinking of you so much because you have style. : ) Love you all. PS, you have kindness and wisdom too which are more important.

Colette,

Wow, I'm not sure you'll even remember me. But I vaguely remember my mom telling me that you guys were in Bangalore! I actually lived there for half of 2004 working in the slums...and still miss it some days. What exactly are you guys doing? What part of the city do you live in? Wow, I'm really excited!
